O’malley Peak is 5100 feet above Anchorage, and we take you up the ridge access to the mountain. This hike in the Chugach Mountain range presented its own challenges, and you’ll be with us every step of the way. Amazing views from the top, great footage, and a little mountain madness tops off this show!

How to get there:
From Down Town Anchorage
- Head east on W 4th Ave toward E Street
- Turn right at Gambell Street
- Continue on (Alaska Highway 1) AK-1 South on Seward Hwy
- Take the Old Seward Hwy exit toward Rabbit Creek Rd.
- Take Rabbit Creek Exit
- At stop sign Turn Left and Continue on Rabbit Creek Rd
- Turn right at Upper Dearmoun Rd
- Slight right at Canyon Rd
- Slight left to stay on Canyon Rd
- Slight left at Flat Top Ave
Park Fee: $5.00 per Car

Mt. Marathon is situated in Seward, Alaska which rests on the shores of Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula. Like other hikes, this proved to be a winner! We made this a half day hike, but we suggest bringing your tent and plan to do an overnight to take full advantage of the views and additional hikes.

- Drive South into Seward on 3rd Street.
- Take a right on Monroe to 1st Street.

We return to Hatcher Pass to Summit Lake!
Your Guide Scott: “If you’re looking for solitude, this hike of the week takes you to Summit Lake, located on the other side of Hatcher Pass. This hike takes you up a mountain that offers mountain lakes, ridges, snowpack, and an easy summit to achieve. This is one of my favorite places to escape from it all!”

Location: Hatcher Pass Road, Alaska
The Hike: Summit Lake Peak
Elevation: 4721 ft.
How to get there:
From Down Town Anchorage
- Drive east on W 4th Ave toward E St
- Turn right at C St
- Turn left at W 6th Ave
- Continue on E 5th Ave/AK-1 and Continue to follow AK-1 for 34 miles.
- Turn left at N Fishhook Rd at 0.5 mi
- Continue on N Palmer-Fishhook Rd for 7.7 mi
- Continue into Hatcher Pass heading to Independence mine. Just stay on the road…
- Take the Willow Rd on your left (dirt road)
- You’ll see a sign as you continue “Entering Summit Lake”
- Park at the first major parking lot at the top of the road. The mountain is right behind you and is well established.
