Bad day at work!

Polar Bear offers up a Bad day at work!

Video These photos were forwarded to me from a friend and thought it was worth sharing with you all. I had a mixed laugh with a slight cringe looking at these photos. I’ve had my own face to face with Bears in Alaska, however there’s nothing I’d personally fear than the stealth nature of a Polar Bear.

Ursus maritimus (Polar Bear) are the world’s largest carnivores, and span several polar regions, which include Canada, Russia, Alaska, Greenland and a few more I’m probably missing. I’ve seen them in free roaming in the wild and more than any creature I’ve seen - there is a graceful nature that is both haunting and beautiful all at once.

I’d run, but can’t help but stare in amazement I guess is what I’m saying… Run Away! Run Away! Run Away!

Those who’ve known the Alaska Podshow or now Alaska HDTV for any length of may have noted the Polar Bear used as part of my branding. It’s seems cliche’, however truly our Arctic climate is changing. I’m not going to debate whether arctic warming is our fault or part of a natural cycle - the point is we need to be aware and do what we can to prevent and support these changes. At the end of the day though, I do believe we are a contributing factor enhancing a natural process.

See you again soon on the show!
